The Railway Inn Penybontfawr (6 miles from Lake Vyrnwy) 01691 860447

Food served Wednesday - Saturday 6-8 pm Sunday roasts 12-2pm Bar meals 6-8pm

We offer you a warm friendly ‘Croeso’ at our cosy country Pub and Restaurant situated in the breathtakingly picturesque Tanat Valley.

Named after the nearby Cambrian railway line which closed in the 1950's and dating from the 18th century, the pub has many original features including one enormous fire place in the public bar, where you’ll catch locals and tourists alike, enjoying a pint,  warming their toes, whilst putting the world to rights. Not to mention the sporting banter whenever the rugby’s on TV!

Tasty food at great value is served in all rooms around the pub, but for the most part our cosy lounge/dining area is the popular spot to sit and enjoy a quiet meal for 2 or for a family together.  We have a great varied menu available including our ‘specials’ board.  Produce is locally sourced where ever possible and cooked to order.

It can get busy in the summer months with the influx of tourists, so recommend you book a table to avoid disappointment.
